OUR 15 POINT CHECK LIST
 

1ST VISIT.

1. CHECK EAR ( Take a look at your ear with our High-Tech Video Otoscope and photograph your eardrum for future reference. )

2. TEST HEARING ( A FREE Audiometric Analysis of your hearing is given to establish if there is a hearing loss, and/or what type of hearing loss. )

3. AID SELECTION ( We'll discuss the various aids available for your type of hearing loss, and budget. )

4. EAR IMPRESSION ( A simple and painless process of taking an earmold. )

5. ORDER AID ( Usually a 2 week waiting period, depending on weather and/or time of year. )

2ND VISIT.

6. CHECK AID ( A complete inspection of your aid, including adjusting battery contacts, checking aid for battery drainage, checking gain control for dead spots, checking aid for feedback and oscillation whistle, and any visible damage. )

7. TEST AID ( Measure your aid's performance on our Electro-Acoustic Appraiser, to see if the electronics work as they are supposed to, i.e. the gain, output, slope, and the acoustic distortion. )

8. FIT AID ( Any, if needed, slight modifications to the aid, such as a tiny hole to equalize pressure, or a vent to improve the aid's response. )

9. RETEST HEARING ( Test your hearing to establish how your hearing aid has improved your hearing. )

10. INSTRUCTIONS ( A full description on how to use and take care of your aid. )

FOLLOW-UP VISITS AS NEEDED.

11. CLEAN AID ( A thorough cleaning and disinfection of your aid, to remove any debris or wax build-up. )

12. CHECK AID ( A complete inspection of your aid, including adjusting battery contacts, checking aid for battery drainage, checking gain control for dead spots, checking aid for feedback and oscillation whistle, and any visible damage. )

13. TEST AID ( Measure your aid's performance on our High-Tech Electro-Acoustic Appraiser, to see if the electronics work as they are supposed to, i.e. the gain, output, slope, and the acoustic distortion. )

14. EVALUATION ( A report, by the user, on how they are adjusting to their new aid. )

15. ADJUST AID ( A modification, if necessary, to the aid due to the users evaluation. )
